Seven Steps Academy of Excellence (SSAOE) is the Authorised body for Certification. No other organizations are authorised for auditing and certification.
The Certificate is valid for 12 months. Thereafter organization need to go for re-certification after demonstrating sustenance and improvement in all the areas mentioned in the standard.
The biggest challenge in 5S is its sustenance. Awards are valid only for a particular occasion. Awards are based on assessments using checklists whereas Certification is based on the implementation of standards. This makes a big difference because Standards ensure sustenance. On several occasions, deterioration happened after receiving an award. Further, re-certification ensures the organization has improved from its previous baseline.
